The Housing Forum is a community education event to provide attendees with information and accessible and affordable housing options for persons impacted by mental illness and other debilitating disabilities. Event components include: presentations on emergency, transitional and permanent housing, Fair Housing Rights, section 8 program update, special needs and supportive services providers, housing providers and networking resource fair.

MHA THOMAS F. RILEY COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD LUNCHEON

MHA will host the 15th Annual Mental Health Community Service Award Celebration Luncheon. Nominated candidates will be honored for their outstanding contributions to mental health in Orange County. The Thomas F. Riley Community Service medallion will be awarded to an individual chosen by a volunteer panel of judges in the following categories: professional, volunteer and client. The celebration luncheon will be held at the Turnip Rose Grand Newport Plaza on Thursday, February 26, 2009. Three Hundred guests are anticipated.

MHA 15th ANNUAL MEETING OF THE MINDS CONFERENCE

Disneyland Hotel, Anaheim, CA
MHA hosts the largest mental health conference held in Orange County. This conference features a resource fair with over 50 exhibitors, 20 timely workshops, networking lunch, keynote speaker and continuing education hours. 800 persons attended in May 2008
Workshop proposals are currently being accepted for the 2009 conference.
